Defining Large Mineralizing Systems in Peru’s New Frontier Areas

Hannan Metals Limited is an exploration company opening up search spaces in Peru’s new geological frontiers to find the next generation of large-scale global copper-gold and copper-silver deposits. With 1,430 km2 of mineral tenure, Hannan is a top 20 concession holder in a country that is dominated by some of the world’s largest exploration and mining companies. The Company is one of the few juniors to acquire such a significant land position. Hannan is currently focusing on two new frontier areas in Peru. Both are located in the sub-Andean zone, which is characterized by highland jungle in the transition between the Cordillera and Amazon Basin.

Hannan’s flagship project is Valiente, located in the Huánuco department of central Peru. Here, the Company is targeting Miocene-age porphyry copper-gold systems in a back-arc setting. The belt is considered a potential new metallogenic province of Peru. Located far inboard of the conventional Andean porphyry belt, the project shows regional similarities to large deposits such as the Bajo de la Alumbrera copper-gold porphyry in Argentina. Hannan commenced drilling at the Belen trend (a 12 km corridor containing three distinct prospects: Vista Alegre, Ricardo Herrera, and Sortilegio) in May 2025, while simultaneously advancing drill permitting for the large alkaline epithermal–porphyry gold-copper system at Previsto, in the northern part of the tenure package.

Previsto is considered a major discovery. The prospect boasts a 5 km x 5 km footprint in soil geochemistry and radiometrics. The headline discovery is the alkaline epithermal vein system “Previsto Central” with impressive channel results: 69.1 m @ 2.4 g/t Au and 13 g/t Ag, including 26.0 m @ 5.4 g/t Au and 27 g/t Ag. Individual assays up to 33.1 g/t Au. In 2024-2025 Hannan completed: top ridge soil survey (infill is ongoing), IP orientation survey over 15-line km, high resolution LiDAR survey, detailed mapping and channel sampling (ongoing), mapping and prospecting of creeks (ongoing).

Hannan has completed an extensive regional BLEG survey covering an area of approximately 140 km by 50 km, integrated with soil geochemistry, satellite imagery analysis, and airborne geophysics. This work has defined 18 porphyry, epithermal, and skarn-style targets across the district. The most significant grab samples, returned assays up to 4.4 g/t gold and 16% copper. These high-grade float discoveries coincide with strongly anomalous Au-Cu-Mo values in stream sediment samples and positive airborne magnetic responses, highlighting a robust mineralized system. Hannan was an early mover in this underexplored district and now controls more than 900 km2 of mineral tenure. The first exploration permits were granted in September 2021, marking the beginning of systematic exploration across the area.

In 2019 at San Martin, Hannan recognized the significant potential for large copper-silver deposits in this part of Peru and aggressively staked a commanding tenure position. In 2020 the company signed a US$35M earn-in and Joint Venture on one third of our ground holding at San Martin with a significant industry partner. We also continue to explore 910 km2 in our own right for copper-gold and copper-silver mineralization.

The San Martin Project covers a new, basin-scale high-grade sediment-hosted copper-silver system that extends over 200 km x 100 km along the foreland region of the eastern Andes Mountains in the Huallaga Basin. Mineralization is geologically similar to the vast Kupferschiefer deposits in Eastern Europe.  Sediment-hosted stratiform copper-silver deposits are among the two most important copper sources in the world, the other being copper porphyries.

Most work was focused in a 9 km x 3 km area where the Company has received approval to commence work for an Environmental Impact Statement (Declaración de Impacto Ambiental or “DIA”) to allow the Company to construct up to 40 drill platforms, if approved. High-grade copper-silver is hosted in an organic-rich shale hosted by the Upper Sarayaquillo Formation.  The shale signifies a previously unrecognized facies and has been mapped in outcrop and by soils for many tens of kilometres. Key outcrop channel results include:

  • 2.0 metres @ 4.9% copper and 62 g/t silver
  • 1.8 metres @ 3.7% copper and 42 g/t silver including 1.2 metres @ 5.4% copper and 62 g/t silver
  • 2.2 metres @ 2.4% copper and 29 g/t silver including 0.7 metres @ 5.9% copper and 70 g/t silver

Hannan is combining traditional “boots on the ground” exploration with new technologies such as high-resolution LiDAR survey to map surface geology under the dense jungle cover and portable XRF machines for systematic real-time soil sampling.

The Company considers working alongside local stakeholders as mission critical.  Our social work has laid credible foundations that have allowed us to explore prospective areas which have not previously experienced systematic exploration.

Hannan’s exploration programs are fully funded in 2025 with a Peru-wide exploration budget of CA$6 million. At Valiente, the Company is advancing detailed exploration programs including soil sampling, geological mapping, and trenching, while preparing for the submission of the DIA at Previsto and continuing the drill program at Belen.

Hannan is uniquely leveraged to make significant grassroots discoveries in two prospective, yet unexplored terrains in Peru.  If successful, these will be compelling targets for the major gold and copper mining houses in the years to come.
