Michael Hudson serves as Chairman and CEO of Hannan Metals Ltd, bringing over 30 years of global mineral exploration and development expertise to Hannan. A professional geologist who graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne, Mr. Hudson specializes in critical metals exploration and has made multiple large-scale mineral discoveries. At Hannan, he led the Company to Peru where Hannan have made significant copper and gold discoveries and established strategic partnerships with JOGMEC (Japanese Government) and TECK Resources. Under his leadership, Hannan has focused on exploration in frontier regions. His extensive track record of discoveries spans multiple continents, including the Sunday Creek gold-antimony project in Victoria (Australia), the Rajapalot gold-cobalt project in Finland, the Norra Karr heavy rare earth elements project in Sweden, the Duddar zinc-lead mine in Pakistan, and the Portia gold deposit in South Australia, demonstrating his expertise in identifying and developing significant mineral resources across diverse geological settings. Mr. Hudson has held numerous executive and board positions throughout his career across multiple public companies, including founding Chairman and CEO of Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd. (previously, Mawson Gold Limited). His leadership experience and extensive network in the mining industry have enabled him to successfully raise significant capital for exploration and development projects across global markets including US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. Mr. Hudson is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of both the Society for Economic Geologists and Australian Institute of Geoscientists, bringing technical rigor and industry recognition to Hannan’s capital market interactions and exploration programs.
Mr. DeMare, a chartered professional accountant, has been President of Chase Management Inc. since 1991, providing accounting, management, securities regulatory compliance and corporate secretarial services to private and public-listed companies. Mr. DeMare also serves as an officer and/or director of a number of public-listed companies. Mr. DeMare holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member in good standing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Ms Carnegie worked for the past decade as an advisor to The Sentient Group, a US$2.7B private equity firm specializing in the development of natural resources. She has held senior positions in the Australian government and life insurance sectors, and owned an Asian strategic research firm from a Singapore base, for over a decade. Currently she is a member of the Board of the Australian Government’s Australia Korea Foundation, a member of the Executive Board, Australia Korea Business Council, on the Advisory Council of Asialink, and a Senior Advisor to Mawson Resources (gold and cobalt exploration, Finland). She served recently on the Advisory Committee to the Emerging Markets Network of the OECD, and early in her career worked at the OECD Secretariat (agricultural commodities). Her links to Universities in Australia are of long standing - Member Council Australia National University (three terms), Member, Council, Curtin University ( WA - three terms) and Member Board UNSW “Unisearch” (two terms). Ms Carnegie has a B Economics (Monash) and an MPA ( Kennedy School of Government, Harvard).
Ms. Vargas brings over 25 years of experience working with international mining exploration companies with investments in Peru, including AngloGold Ashanti, Pasminco Exploration, The Grosso Group, Norsemont Mining, Inca One Metals, Kaizen Discovery, and Winshear Gold, as general manager and/or as local leader in the areas of administration, permitting and health, safety, environmental and community relations ("HSEC"). Through her company, CAVATO Management Consulting Services, she has been a consultant for mining exploration companies listed at the TSX and TSXV. Ms. Vargas was appointed Hannan's General Manager and HSEC Leader in July 2019 and is instrumental in the development of Hannan's stakeholder engagement and in identifying and managing social, environmental and safety risks associated with Hannan's exploration and development activities. Ms. Vargas holds a degree in Business Administration with a Master Degree in International Business Administration and post graduate specializations in Mining and Environmental Law and in Organization and Business Administration, in addition to having taken International Management programs at Harvard Business School and Tonji University in Shanghai.
