Peru
Hannan’s Peru exploration is centred on the Valiente project area in the Huánuco and Ucayali regions of central-eastern Peru, where the Company has defined a previously unrecognised porphyry and epithermal mineralised belt. The belt lies in the sub-Andean back-arc, inboard of the conventional Andean porphyry belt, and the Company is targeting Miocene-age porphyry and epithermal copper-gold systems. First-pass zircon dating has identified multiple Miocene intrusive events, peaking at approximately 21, 15 and 11 Ma.
Within the project area, the Previsto and Belen target areas form a porphyry–epithermal cluster of approximately 25 km × 10 km, in which eight porphyry and/or epithermal targets have been identified in detail, with up to ten earlier-stage targets awaiting further work. The two most advanced of these — Previsto (an alkalic epithermal–porphyry gold system) and Belen (a 12 km porphyry–epithermal trend) — each have their own page below.
The Company’s exploration in Peru is conducted across the Valiente project area, which spans approximately 813 km². Hannan’s tenure is 100% owned.
